OUR CLASS GOAL
The overall goal of this immersive learning course was to deepen our understanding of the opioid crisis during the perinatal period in Delaware County. Specifically, this class addressed the following aims:
1. Measure and analyze stakeholders’ and the public’s attitudes, knowledge, and beliefs regarding maternal substance abuse
2. Develop a data-informed product geared toward educating the community about maternal substance use.

WHAT IS AN IMMERSIVE LEARNING PROJECT?
Immersive learning brings together interdisciplinary, student-driven teams guided by faculty mentors to create high-impact learning experiences. Through immersive learning, students earn credit for working collaboratively with businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies to address community challenges.
